Metronome & note explorer
Start a steady click, or explore correctly spelled major/minor triads and scales with synthesized notes. Audio begins only after your button press. Use a comfortable volume. No microphone is used; this is not a tuner.
Choose a root and pattern, then update the note display.
Tempo and meter
The click interval is 60 ÷ BPM seconds. In 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 it represents a quarter note. In 6/8 it represents an eighth note, with stronger clicks on one and four; 120 click-BPM in this mode equals 40 dotted-quarter beats per minute. Changing settings stops the click so you can restart deliberately.
Pitches and spelling
Playback uses twelve-tone equal temperament with A4 = 440 Hz. Major triads use 0, 4 and 7 half steps; minor triads use 0, 3 and 7. Major and natural-minor scales use their conventional seven-letter spelling, including accidentals when necessary. The explorer names notes rather than instrument fingerings.
Active practice and audio controls
Start and Play require a button press. Stop all sound cancels scheduled notes and the metronome. Sound also stops when the page is hidden or left. Browser and output-device latency can affect how a click feels; this is a practice reference, not a calibrated recording clock.
